The Difference Between Rail Mounted Container Gantry Crane And Rubber Tire Container Gantry Crane

- May 21, 2015 -

The biggest difference between rail-mounted cranes and tire typed cranes is that rail-mounted container cranes are used in fixed places. They have the advantages of durability and low maintenance, but their disadvantages are poor mobility; while the maintenance cost of the tire-type container gantry cranes is high, they can be used with a certain degree of movement, the flexibility is higher than that of the track type.

Tire-type cranes are boom-type rotary cranes that use a tire-type chassis to walk. It consists of two parts: upper and lower part. Upper part of the car is equipped with a boom, lifting mechanism, luffing mechanism, counterweight and turntable, etc.; lower part is the support and walking parts. Slewing rings are used to connect the upper and lower cars. When lifting, it is generally necessary to lower the legs, increase the bearing surface, and level the fuselage to ensure the stability of the crane. According to the form of chassis the tire-type cranes are divided into two types: tire cranes and truck cranes. The former adopts a special chassis, the body is short, and the operation moves flexibly; the latter's lifting part is installed on the chassis of the vehicle, the body is longer. It has the driving performance of the truck and can be quickly transferred in stand-alone or with car formations

Rail-mounted container gantry cranes mainly have the following characteristics: lower lifting speed and higher trolley running speed; trolley running speed can be determined according to the span of the bridge and the outreach distance at both ends; when the span exceeds 40m, the high-speed operation process of the cart is large In addition, due to the different running resistances of the two door legs, offset will occur. For this purpose, a synchronization device is set up to maintain the synchronization of the running speeds of both sides through the electrical control system. In order to meet the higher usage requirements, the electric drive control system uses thyristor DC or AC speed control drive control system to achieve better speed control and control performance.
